Hey Slaw Doggers!

It’s that time of the year again! Save the date for the 26th Annual Paul Sands Memorial Slaw Dog Invitational to be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Cypress Lake Golf Club!

It is hard to believe that it has been 26 years since Paul Sands and I sat on the back porch of Cypress Lake Golf Club and decided to get a group of friends together to have some fun before the holidays by playing golf, drinking some beer, and raising some money for a local charity. We still have some original Slaw Doggers playing and many new dogs. Never did I imagine that our idea would turn into one of the most popular golf tournaments in our area! Yet here we are – 25 golf tournaments, 25 slaw dog dinners, 25 raffles and probably 25,000 drinks later. Cheers to another year!

Last year was another record-setting year thanks to every sponsor, donor, golfer, and volunteer. I am in awe year after year of your big hearts and generosity. Thanks to you, we CRUSHED our goal raising $106,000 for our local youth! These kids and their families thank you for your continued support!

By popular demand, we will continue with the shamble format. There have been some big changes to some of the holes at Cypress Lake Golf Club. We completed phase 2 of our turf removal / natural area project and it looks great. The work has added color, texture, and really framed the holes nicely. We expect all golfers to be pleased as it has truly enhanced the golf course!
